Oklahoma Champions named at 2022 National Junior Angus Show

Oklahoma Champions named at 2022 National Junior Angus Show Over 750 Angus juniors and their families traveled to Kansas City, Mo., to compete in the 2022 National Junior Angus Show (NJAS) July 2-9 at Hale Arena.

National Junior Angus Association (NJAA) members gathered for "The Biggest Show on Dirt" as they exhibited 1,143 entries during the weeklong event that included more than a dozen educational contests in addition to the cattle show.

            Chad Holtkamp, West Point, Iowa, judged owned heifers; Parker Henley, Stillwater, Okla., assisted in judging 666 owned heifers; Cody Sankey, Economy, Ind., judged the 224 bred-and-owned heifers, 59 bulls and 25 cow-calf pairs; Chris Sankey, Council Grove, Kan., assisted in judging bred-and-owned heifers, bulls, and cow-calf pairs; Cory Thomsen, Madison, S.D., judged the 70 steers; and Dr. Doug Parrett, Urbana, Ill., judged the 99 phenotype and genotype heifers.

            Josie Phillips, Maysville, Ky., led the grand champion owned female. BCR Phyllis 092J is an April 2021 daughter of PVF Blacklist 7077 and first won junior champion division 2.

            Carlee Clark, Muldrow, Okla., (pictured) led the reserve grand champion owned female. Ellies Southern Belle 2112 is an April 2021 daughter of Colburn Primo 5153 and first won junior champion division 1.

            Houston Ferree, Sullivan, Ind., won third overall champion owned female with Conley FRKG Queen Meg 1085. She is the April 2021 daughter of BRDG Mahogany Prime 904B and first claimed reserve junior champion ivision 1.

            Tucker Bayer, Ringle, Wis., led the fourth overall champion owned female. FCF Phyllis 056 is the September 2020 daughter of Silveiras Style 9303 and first claimed early senior champion.

            Reece Thoreson, Knoxville, Iowa, captured fifth overall champion owned female with MLA Proven Queen 2128. She is the February 2021 daughter of KR Casino 6243 and first claimed junior champion division 4.

            Allison Davis, Shelbyville, Tenn., captured grand champion bred-and-owned female honors with AED Rita 037H. The December 2020 daughter of PVF Blacklist 7077 first won senior champion.

            Paige Lemenager, Hudson, Ill., led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female, Lemenager Proven Queen J46. The June 2021 daughter of Conley No Limit was first named intermediate champion.

            Cealy Bedwell, Holt, Mo., won third overall champion bred-and-owned champion female with CB Princess Val 101. She is the February 2021 daughter of Stevenson Turning Point and first claimed early junior champion.

            Case Conley, Sulphur, Okla., led the fourth overall champion bred-and-owned female. Conley Sandy 1467 is the January 2021 daughter of Conley Express 7211 and first claimed reserve early junior champion.

            Drew Brown, Rockville, Ind., captured fifth overall champion bred-and-owned champion female with BCII HL BF Lady 2021. She is the April 2021 daughter of Colburn Primo 5153 and first claimed late junior champion.

            Case Conley, Sulphur, Okla., won grand champion bred-and-owned bull honors with Conley Ransom 1810. The April 2021 son of Conley No Limit first won junior champion.

            Korey Moser, Larchwood, Iowa, led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull. K&J TCF South Point 125 is a May 2021 son of Conley South Point 8362 and was first named intermediate champion.

            Houston Ferree, Sullivan, Ind., showed the grand champion owned cow-calf pair.

SSF Lady 5030 is a May 2020 daughter of Conley Express 7211, and first topped the two-year-old division. A February 2022 bull calf sired by PVF Blacklist 7077 was at side.

            John Allison, Yukon, Okla., led the reserve grand champion owned cow-calf pair. EXAR Princess 1889 is a September 2019 daughter of Dameron First Class. A January 2022 daughter of C&C Intuition 7104 is at side. The pair first won reserve champion two-year-old pair.

            Karson Patton, Frankfort, Ind., claimed grand champion bred-and-owned cow-calf pair with SKPatton CAF Proven Queen2022, an April 2020 daughter of Greene Pokerface 1304. An April 2022 bull calf sired by SKPatton CAF Profile204 was at side. The duo first won champion two-year-old pair.

            Allison Davis, Shelbyville, Tenn., captured reserve grand champion bred-and-owned cow-calf pair with AED Rita 821F. The November 2018 daughter of PVF Insight 0129 had an October 2021 son of S A V 004 Density 4336 at side. They first won champion mature pair.

            Christian Fischer, Freeport, Ill., earned grand champion steer honors with FSC Earl 753. He is the March 2021 son of Gateway Follow Me F163.

            Cole Caldwell, Elmwood, Ill., led the reserve grand champion steer. PVF Blacklist Z02 is a January 2021 son of PVF Blacklist 7077.

            Case Conley, Sulphur, Okla., claimed grand champion bred-and-owned steer with Conley JR 1229. He is the February 2021 son of Conley No Limit.

            Drew Brown, Rockville, Ind., earned reserve grand champion bred-and-owned steer with BF BCII Follow Me 1024. He is a February 2021 son of Gateway Follow Me F163.

            Anne Dameron, Towanda, Ill., showed the grand champion female in phenotype and genotype portion of show. DPL Sandy 1595 is the September 2021 daughter of Deer Valley Growth Fund and first won division 1 champion.

            Kyli Kraft, Fort Collins, Colo., led the reserve grand champion female in the phenotype and genotype portion of the show. RB Lady Alternative 95-136 is the March 2021 daughter of Baldridge Alternative E125. She first claimed division 3 champion.
