OKFB Foundation for Ag opens Grant ApplicationsWed, 27 Jul 2022 09:34:01 CDT
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture is accepting applications for its three grant programs, offering a total of $16,000.
The foundation created the three grant programs – the mini grant program, the Growing with the Foundation program and the Community Harvest grant program – to help Oklahomans of all ages experience agriculture.
The mini grant program, which offers $500 to 10 county Farm Bureaus, 4-H clubs, FFA chapters or teachers, is designed to establish educational programs for school-aged children or adults to improve agriculture literacy. There are two opportunities throughout the year to apply with deadlines March 1 and September 1.
The Growing with the Foundation grant program will assist one school with $5,000 to purchase a greenhouse. The program will also provide five classrooms with floral and vegetable grow kits valued at $500 each. Applications for this grant program must be submitted by October 1.
Individual 4-H chapters and FFA clubs may apply for the Community Harvest grant program to receive up to $1,000 to support a service-learning project focused on creating and implementing sustainable food production to address hunger in the community. Applications must be submitted by November 1.
