This past Friday, Radio Oklahoma Ag Network Farm Director Ron Hays sat down with Dr. Jayson Lusk in his office in Stillwater, Oklahoma on the campus of Oklahoma State University. Lusk and Hays talked about a variety of topics- starting with a review of the multi year project that Dr. Lusk has led in surveying consumers about their attitudes on meat purchases at both the retail and restaurant levels. The Food Demand Survey conducted by Dr. Lusk is in its fourth year and features the opinions of a thousand plus consumers monthly.
Lusk and Hays also discussed some of the many topics that Lusk has tackled on his blog and in a multitude of national media appearances since he joined the OSU Ag Economics faculty team. Lusk has been interviewed and has written opinion pieces for organizations like NPR, Fox Business News, Wall Street Journal, New York Times and Time. Dr. Lusk says that the issues he talks and writes the most about it seems are Animal Ag issues and GMOs.
