Wed, 04 Feb 2015 04:03:40 CST
As the 2015 Cattle Industry Convention gets underway in San Antonio, Texas, Farm Director Ron Hays caught up with NCBA's Vice President for Governmental Affairs, Colin Woodall- and they talked about a variety of issues that will be discussed while cattle producers are here at this annual gathering.
Woodall says the new attitude that has come to Washington with the GOP takeover of the US Senate is exciting- and that a lot of issues that were stuck in the back waters of Senate gridlock have alreayd been moving- and that activity will continue.
The Waters of the US Proposal from the Army Corps of Engineers and the EPA continues to be the number one concern for the cattle group- and Woodall pointed to Oklahoma Senator Jim Inhofe as a change-agent as the new Chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee as he has vowed to go hard against the Obama Administration in getting this measure stopped dead in 2015.
Other issues that Hays and Woodall discussed included tax incentives, fiscal reform, the Beef Checkoff and more.
