Cameron Bruett on Beef Sustainability at the Texoma Cattlemen's Conference
Tue, 24 Mar 2015 12:02:29 CDTIt was a tremendous lineup of speakers at the 2015 Texoma Cattlemen's Conference in Ardmore on March 21st. One of those presentors was Cameron Bruett, who is the head of Corporate Affairs for JBS-USA, one of the major meat processors in the US and globally. Bruett also serves as the President of the Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef, a body that, according to their website, is a "global, multi-stakeholder initiative developed to advance continuous improvement in sustainability of the global beef value chain through leadership, science and multi-stakeholder engagement and collaboration. The GRSB envisions a world in which all aspects of the beef value chain are environmentally sound, socially responsible and economically viable."
Bruett spent a lot of his time discussing the tremendous challenges that animal agriculture faces in dealing a varietuy of NGOs and Activist Groups that do not agree with modern production methods and/or hate animal agriculture production- period.
In his presentation- he also spends time explaining the role of the Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef- and why US producers deserve and want a seat at the Roundtable.
