Wyoming's Thaler Land & Livestock Swears by BioZyme's Vita Charge Products for Healthy Calves

Mon, 21 May 2018 11:19:29 CDT

Wyoming's Thaler Land & Livestock Swears by BioZyme's Vita Charge Products for Healthy Calves Weaning is potentially the most stressful time in a calf's life. But, it doesn't have to be. Thaler Land & Livestock, near LaGrange, Wyo., discovered that they can eliminate some of that post-weaning stress and keep their calves healthy and eating with the help of Vita Charge® products from BioZyme® Inc.

The multi-generation ranch that has been in the family for more than 100 years runs approximately 1,400 commercial cows. Dennis Thaler and his daughter and son-in-law, Brandy and Kevin Evans, manage the ranch, working together to make continual improvements to the land, the cattle and their way of life. They hope their stewardship and improvements will allow the next generation - Hadley and Hudson Evans - to continue this lifestyle someday.

"Our main goal is we always want to get better every year; that's our focus," Kevin said. "Whether its cattle, or pasture or education, we want to keep getting better."

"The calves need more nutrition, better nutrition. That's where the Vita Charge really came in. It gave them a heck of a boost, better than we've ever had before," Dennis said.

Vita Charge is a multi-species livestock supplement that provides a powerful dose of vitamins, B vitamins and the Amaferm® advantage for those stressful times when livestock need protection or assistance in recovery. Thaler Land & Livestock started using the Vita Charge products at weaning three years ago. They use the Vita Charge Cattle Drench at processing, and immediately after processing weaned calves have access to Vita Charge Stress Tubs with MOS. Not only do the calves stay healthier, they start eating sooner, which means they start gaining faster.

Kevin said prior to using the Vita Charge, during years that were bad with sickness, he would have to treat up to 10 head per day. Now, he might treat 10 head total. And, his calves find the feed bunk and the water trough faster.

"I believe in Amaferm a lot, mostly because I have seen the difference in the cattle's consumption. And, I firmly believe if you've got a healthy gut in your cattle, you have a healthy animal," Kevin said.
