Firestone Ag to Unveil New Tech, Old-School Treats at Farm Progress Show

Thu, 15 Aug 2019 11:53:41 CDT

Firestone Ag to Unveil New Tech, Old-School Treats at Farm Progress Show Firestone Ag, a business of Bridgestone Americas, Inc., will showcase new tires and technology at this year's Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois, Aug. 27 29. Attendees will experience the benefits of proper tractor set up through virtual reality, see the unique design of Firestone Ag tires in augmented reality, and have a chance to sit down with tire experts over a cold root beer float at Harvey's Floatation Station, a tribute to Firestone Ag founder Harvey Firestone.

"In today's world, and especially in farming, we see contrasts between 'old' and 'new,'" says Brad Harris, manager, Global Agriculture Field Engineering, Firestone Ag. "So while we're always keeping technology top of mind, we never lose sight of the personal connection with farmers whose livelihood depends on getting the job done. When farming gets hard, sometimes a face-to-face conversation over an ice-cold drink is just as important as the technology we put into our tires."

Also on display at the show will be the Bridgestone Digital Board, a touch-screen interactive tablet that provides users with an overview of Firestone Ag products, tools and resources; Farm Progress Show attendees will be able to watch videos on topics such as how to determine proper inflation pressure for their tires. There are currently 20 Bridgestone Digital Boards in dealerships across the United States, with plans to expand.

"The Bridgestone Digital Boards are a great tool for farmers as well as dealers," said Tony Orlando, president, Firestone Ag. "Technology like this helps us better communicate key benefits to the farmer, such as Firestone's Advanced Deflection Design (AD2™) technology, or our newest line of tires debuting at Farm Progress Show, Maxi Traction."

Launching this fall, Maxi Traction tires feature improved tread wear for a longer tire life, targeted load capacity for matching application needs, and R-1W lug depth for traction in a variety of soil types. They also incorporate AD2 technology, enabling producers to carry the same load at a lower tire pressure.

Firestone Ag will be at Farm Progress Show booth 14E. Visit Firestoneag.com for more info.
