Riley Pagett Moves Up from National President to National Stagehand at the 85th Annual Convention of the FFA
Wed, 24 Oct 2012 08:12:39 CDT
Last year- Riley Pagett was always seen in his official dress everywhere he went in Indianapolis- he was the official "leader" of the organization as he served as the President of the National FFA in 2010-2011. Pagett, a FFA member from Woodward, finished his career in the youth organization on stage in Indianapolis last October- but his time on stage continues one year later here at the 2012 edition of their national convention. Only, this year he is helping set the stage and reset the stage and reset the stage again as one of the stagehands for the general sessions at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse here in Indianapolis. (Our picture here is of Riley with some of the other stagehands acting as the 2012-2013 National Officer team during practice for the final session of this year's convention- he has obviously had some previous experience doing this)
On Tuesday afternoon, we watched Riley and the other stagehands help the National Officers for this year practice for the various sessions coming up this week as 55,000. Afterwards, we talked with Riley about his thoughts as he was up on stage in a different role this year- how life has been after his FFA mountaintop experience from a year ago and his perspective on what FFA has done for him personally as he prepares to finish his undergrad degree and move on to law school. You can also see Riley in action in some of the pictures that we took on Tuesday as they practiced setting things up for the 85th National Convention of the FFA here in Indianapolis. Click here for our FLICKR set of National Convention photos for 2012.
