Nicole Folger of Burlington Wins Ag Education Proficiency Title
Fri, 24 Oct 2008 21:59:56 CDT
Nicole Folger of the Burlington FFA Chapter is the winner of the Agricultural Education Proficiency Award at the 81st Annual National Convention of the FFA in Indianapolis. She is one of six Oklahoma FFA members that are bringing home a National Proficiency victory from the 2008 event.
As a high school freshman, Nicole Folger stood before a group of fifth grade students and asked them where their food came from. Not satisfied with their responses, the Burlington FFA member decided it was her destiny to be an agriculture educator. To prepare for this future career, Folger has taken many steps to promote agriculture in her community. Taking an active role in her chapter's Food For America and Partners in Active Learning Support programs, Folger is educating youth about agriculture and FFA.
Farm Director Ron Hays talked with Nicole right after the announcement was made- click on the listen bar below to hear their conversation.
