Redlands Community College Tells Their Story at the National FFA Agricultural Career Show

Thu, 21 Oct 2010 2:46:29 CDT

Redlands Community College Tells Their Story at the National FFA Agricultural Career Show Hundreds of exhibitors play show and tell with the 50,000 participants of the National FFA Convention- that describes the annual National FFA Agricultural Career Show. Companies wanting to build a bond for now and the future with these young men and ladies, fund raising companies that want to show their products to FFA Chpater Advisors and Parents who are looking for the next great idea for fundraising, several branches of the US Military hoping that they can recruit some of these incredible young men and lots and lots of colleges and Universities that are able to get in front of thousands of young people who will want to further their education in agriculture in the next few years.

While the major Universities have been big booths, several current students and often a "hook" to get people to come and check out their booth- it's the smaller schools that have a great opportunity to talk one on one about the unique things they bring to the table for either a period of two years or four years to that potential student.

One of those smaller schools that is telling its story this week is Redlands Community College out of El Reno, Oklahoma. The picture here is Jack Staats, Oklahoma's State FFA Advisor visiting with Sam Nusz and Annie Pearson of the Redlands team in the Redlands booth at the Career Show.

We talked with Annie Pearson of Redlands about the school- it is their fourh year to be at the National Ag Career Show and they have gotten students showing up in El Reno from several states as a result of their participation- and no doubt, have secured more than just a few Oklahoma students as well. Click on the LISTEN BAR below to hear our conversation with Annie- and you can click here for the Home Page of Redlands on the internet- choose Academic Programs and then the Agricultural option to see the specifics of their Agricultural program.
