Piper Merritt Makes the Cut- Is Now a Finalist in Her Quest to Become a National Officer of the FFA

Mon, 23 Oct 2017 20:39:30 CDT

Piper Merritt Makes the Cut- Is Now a Finalist in Her Quest to Become a National Officer of the FFA Traditionally, the National FFA announces the National Officer Candidate Finalists on Tuesday evening- but they moved that up by twenty four hours here in 2017- and the word from Oklahoma FFA Executive Secretary Kent Boggs is that Piper Merritt of Owasso, last year's State FFA Secretary, has made the cut and remains in contention to land a spot on the 2017-18 National FFA Officer team.

Piper will have additional interviews and interactions with the other candidates and the Nominating Committee- and will have to wait all week long in Indianapolis for the final General Session on Saturday afternoon as the new national officer team is announced.

This past week, Radio Oklahoma Ag Network Farm Director Ron Hays sat down and talked at length with Piper about her FFA Career, her preparation for the National Officer selection process and why she has a desire to be a servant leader and give a year of her life to be one of the six National FFA Officers.
