Twenty One OKlahoma FFA Members Are National Finalists in 2018 Proficiency Awards- Will Compete in Indianapolis This October

Twenty One OKlahoma FFA Members Are National Finalists in 2018 Proficiency Awards- Will Compete in Indianapolis This October Oklahoma FFA is once again among the top states in the US when it comes to the number of National Proficiency Award finalists that will compete at the National FFA Convention this October in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Twenty one Oklahoma FFA members have qualified as one of four finalists in their categories- making Oklahoma the state with the third most Proficiency Award Finalists in the nation- behind only Georgia and Ohio. Two of Oklahoma's National Finalists- Ethan Sacket of Fairview and Kohl Murray of Perkins Tryon were National Finalists last year- and will return to Indianapolis to compete for a national championship.

Three members of the Fairview FFA Chapter have qualified as a National Finalist, while the Stillwater Chapter can claim two national finalists for 2018.

Four national finalists are selected in each proficiency award areas to compete for a national proficiency award.

Proficiency award winners are announced on stage during the National FFA Convention & Expo.

Each national finalist receives $500 cash award and a plaque. National winners receive an additional $500 award and a plaque.


The twenty one national finalists that will represent Oklahoma at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis include:

Agricultural Mechanics Design and Fabrication - Entrepreneurship/Placement - Hunter Graumann, Weatherford

Agricultural Sales - Entrepreneurship - Parker Cantrell, Skiatook

Diversified Agricultural Production - Entrepreneurship/Placement - Maggie Martens, Fairview

Agriscience Research - Plant Systems - Ashlyn Dobbs, Stillwater

Diversified Crop Production - Entrepreneurship - Tuff Johnson, Afton

Diversified Horticulture - Entrepreneurship/Placement - Ethan Sacket, Fairview

Environmental Science and Natural Resources Management - Entrepreneurship/Placement - Riley Estes, Cashion

Equine Science - Entrepreneurship - Natally Owen, Mustang

Equine Science - Placement - Seth McCaa, Elmore City-Pernell

Fiber and/or Oil Crop Production - Entrepreneurship/Placement - Hunter McGuire, Erick

Food Science and Technology - Entrepreneurship/Placement - Kylee Pameticky, Fairview
