Newly Formed Corteva Says Company will Continue Tradition of Legacy Companies' Support of FFA

Newly Formed Corteva Says Company will Continue Tradition of Legacy Companies' Support of FFA Many of the innovative companies in agriculture have always returned to their roots and supported the National FFA Organization, recognizing the importance of nurturing the educational and professional growth of the industry's future leaders. Like many of those companies - DuPont Crop Protection, DOW Agrisciences and Pioneer Seed - have all merged into one company. That company, now collectively known by its new name, Corteva Agrisciences, is continuing the tradition of legacy companies and is maintaining a presence in Indianapolis this week demonstrating its support of FFA members everywhere. Radio Oklahoma Ag Network Farm Director Ron Hays is there, too, and had the chance to speak with a woman who not only oversees Corteva's Crop Protection Division, but also serves as Chairman for the National FFA Foundation's Sponsor Board. She talked with Hays about Corteva and its investment in ag-youth. Listen to their complete conversation by clicking or tapping the LISTEB BAR below at the bottom of the page.

"We have been proud sponsors for a lot of years with our legacy companies and will continue with Corteva," said Susanne Wasson, president of Corteva's Crop Protection Business Platform. "Right now, we have a shortage of agricultural workers to fill all the open jobs we have in the industry. Meeting with FFA students and explaining to them the opportunities - there are over 250 careers that they can have in agriculture - we want to bring students into agriculture as an industry and this is a great opportunity to do that."

Corteva, as a company, has positioned itself to be a leader in agricultural innovation. The company's partnership with the FFA is a guarantee that mission will continue to be upheld in the future as the two entities work together to prepare and recruit talented students for a career in agriculture and then be there to launch them into the industry. One example that showcases Corteva's strength as a leader in innovation is its newest product that has reached the global marketplace - Rinskor - which has earned the company its sixth Green Chemistry Award.

"We just launched Rinskor in the US and around the world," she said. "That's one example where we have a great collaboration going forward in Corteva, but there's many more and we have a fantastic pipeline."
