Your 2021 Star Farmer of Oklahoma- Caitlyn Mack of the Drummond FFA Chapter

The 2021 Star Farmer of Oklahoma is Caitlyn Mack, a member of the Drummond FFA Chapter.
Mack was named the Oklahoma Star Farmer during the Wednesday afternoon General Session of the 95th Annual Convention of the Oklahoma FFA. Caitlyn was presented with the Governor's Trophy and a cash award of $1,700 sponsored by the Davis Farmers of Guthrie, Oklahoma Farm Bureau, McDonalds and the Chickasaw Nation.
After her name was called out- a video produced by Radio Oklahoma Ag Network Farm Director Ron Hays and JD Rosman with the Oklahoma Youth Expo. Watch that salute by clicking on the play button in the video box below.
Caitlyn Mack's project is managing 220 acres of her own farmland as well as working on her family farm and ranch near Drummond.
Farming and ranching with her family is a passion for Caitlyn Mack,
I wanted to really show that I truly care about production ag and feeding the world, Mack said.
All of the challenges Mother Nature gives you also shows you how to work and come up with solutions, Mack said.
She credits her family and ag teacher for supporting her.
One of my favorite FFA moments was making it to state FFA Creed contest finals as a freshman, she said.
FFA has taught me hard work pays off, she said.
You don't want to let opportunities pass you by, she said.
The Covid pandemic emphasized the importance of agriculture.
Farmers couldn't just stop checking cattle, Mack said.
Mack plans to attend Oklahoma State University majoring in animal science and/or agricultural education while continuing to farm with her family.
