Rashele Blakely of the Oologah FFA Chapter, won the National Proficiency Award in Diversified Livestock Production- Entrepreneurship at the 2009 National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. Rashele is one of 11 Oklahoma FFA members who won the National title in their project area, the most of any state in the US.
Rashele Blakly of Oklahoma is a sixth generation livestock and ag producer. The Oologah FFA member can't remember a time when livestock production wasn't part of her life. Today, she produces show calves and seedstock as well as packaged meat for her commercial meat market from her registered Shorthorn and Main Anjou herd. Rashele tells us that the packaged meat enterprise has proven to be very successful, and that she has really enjoyed interacting with consumers and sharing with them the nurtition and safety story of her beef. She also raises swine, sheep and goats. She is supported by her parents, Lyle and Rae Blakely as well as her FFA advisor, Ron Harper.
