Kailin Jenkins Wins Diversified Livestock Production- Placement Proficiency Award
Fri, 24 Oct 2008 22:28:20 CDT
Kailin Jenkins of the Stillwater FFA Chapter is the winner of the Diversified Livestock Production-Placement Proficiency Award at the 81st Annual National Convention of the FFA in Indianapolis. She is one of six Oklahoma FFA members that are bringing home a National Proficiency victory from the 2008 event.
Taking every opportunity given to her to work with animals, Kailin Jenkins takes an active role in her family's diversified livestock farm. The first goal she wanted to accomplish was learning about diseases and determining which ones reaped the most havoc on a livestock operation. The Stillwater FFA member was also interested in learning about the selection of quality breeding animals. Accomplishing both of these goals, Jenkins has gained the confidence needed to pursue a career in Agricultural Relations.
Farm Director Ron Hays talked with Kailin right after the announcement was made- click on the listen bar below to hear their conversation.
