Marty Jones Ready to Think Quick on His Feet in Today's National Extemp Speech Contest
Wed, 21 Oct 2009 7:19:25 CDT
It takes a special type of speaker to handle the rigors of Extemporaneous Public Speaking in the FFA- especially at the highest levels. You have to have done a lot of research on current topics in agriculture- learned to summarize it all in a few words- and be able to pull it out of your research file, add a catchy open and close to the speech, deliver it with style and then hang on for dear life as the questions hammer you from the judges.
Marty Jones of Owasso handles the job well. He won the State contest last April in Oklahoma City- and represents Oklahoma in Indianapolis, starting today as the opening rounds get underway in the Extemp competition.
