Thu, 23 Oct 2008 8:29:20 CDT
Howdy Neighbors and Good Thursday Morning From Indianapolis! We had the chance to eat dinner with the Oklahoma and Ohio State Officer team last night and here's a picture of the Oklahoma officers- all except for Sarah Reasnor who was at the banquet honoring the speech contestants last night.
We talked with Chelsea Clifton, the 2008-2009 Oklahoma FFA President about the 2008 National Convention and how the year is progressing for the state officer team. You can click below on the Listen Bar for that.
I had the chance to sit next to Phil Berkenbile, who is the head of CareerTech for the state of Oklahoma, at last night's dinner. I gained a lot of insight of how he is working to show the intangible benefits that being involved in FFA or the other high school programs that CareerTech is involved with. He has lots of anecdotal evidence that these organizations make a world of difference in the lives of our youth- as well as in the communities where they live. But he's looking for a way to show those who advocate the only measurement that matters is a higher test score that you have to consider more than just another point or two on a scorecard.
Today, we'll be keeping tabs on the Stars judging- and checking out the Career Show.
