Wed, 22 Oct 2008 21:50:37 CDT
Consider this your Wednesday Evening FFA Convention Update. As you do your pondering- take a look at the National FFA Band in front of the Career Show doors.
While both Blake Jackson and Sarah Reasnor advanced out of the preliminaries of their speech contests earlier today- we learn tonight they did not survive the semifinals and neither will be competing in the national finals on Thursday.
We do have good news that Laila Hajii has survived the inital cut in her bid to become a National FFA Officer in the coming year. There are now 19 officer candidates left with the Nominating Committee to select what they believe will be the best six officers for 2008-2009. Hajii is fromt he Guthrie FFA Chapter- spent a year at OSU last school year and has moved this fall to Texas Tech.
Events to come on Thursday will include the STARS judging and the Creed Contest. We will also take time to roam the Career Show and see what sort of stories we can dig up there of interest to us here in Oklahoma.
