Support the Future on #GivingTuesday- Oklahoma FFA and Oklahoma 4-H

Tue, 27 Nov 2018 05:01:10

Support the Future on #GivingTuesday- Oklahoma FFA and Oklahoma 4-H On this #GivingTuesday, we have asked the Executive Directors of the Oklahoma FFA Foundation and the Oklahoma 4-H Foundation to offer their personal thoughts on why their organization deserves your consideration and monetary support as both groups work to make Oklahoma a better place in the generations to come.

Blayne Arthur is the Executive Director of the Oklahoma 4-H Foundation- she writes on this "GivingTuesday" these words:

"The 4-H program in Oklahoma can truly change the trajectory of a child's life. There is a place for every child to succeed no matter their interest, skill set or demographic. 4-H has a place for everyone and encourages youth to succeed in all areas of their life. I believe the 4-H program is one of the best solutions to solving societal challenges that we have in our state.  4-H members are four times more likely to make contributions to their communities, two times more likely to be civically active, two times more likely to make healthier choices and two times more likely to participate in STEM programs.

"We are growing talented young leaders in the 4-H program who will help to shape the future of our communities and our state.  Supporting Oklahoma 4-H members ensures young leaders have the tools they need to find success. Youth with vision and leadership ensure a better community and state for decades to come. "

Blayne and her team at the 4-H Founation have developed an excellent website- you can learn more about 4-H in Oklahoma by clicking or tapping here to go there- and there is a section on how you can donate.

Holly Blakey is the Executive Director of the Oklahoma FFA Foundation- we asked Holly as well to articulate why FFA on this #GivingTuesday. She responded with what she calls her "heart felt answer."

"Giving to Oklahoma FFA is investing in the future. It's promoting our agricultural values and a commitment to the next generation's involvement in our industry. Our students benefit from donations through incentives to excel in the many areas of competition or benefit from attending the premier leadership training Oklahoma FFA offers.

"Through the Oklahoma FFA Foundation, any amount given will support our leadership programs. A minimum of $250 allows the donor to select a proficiency or career development event they would like to co-sponsor. A minimum of $2,500 allows an organization or individual to select a specific project to sponsor as a corporate donor. "

Holly offers this link- click or tap here- if you wish to contribute today to the Blue and Gold thru the Foundation.

You can learn more about Oklahoma FFA by clicking here for their website- they have a section dedicated to the Oklahoma FFA Foundation.
