Tyler Waitman of Dibble FFA Shows Supreme Champion Gilt at 2011 OYE

More than 900 gilts representing seven breeds paraded before the judges in day one of a two day breeding hog show at the 2011 Oklahoma Youth Expo. Breed Champions and Reserve Champions were named in all of the breeds, with each of those young men and ladies receiving $1500 as Breed Champ and $750 as Reserve Champ- these being scholarship dollars.
Just before 7 PM Monday evening, the Grand Champions in each breed entered the ring and the Supreme Champion of the Seven Breeds turned out to be Duroc Grand Champion, shown by Tyler Waitman of Dibble FFA. Pictured here is Tyler showing his Duroc gilt in the Supreme Champion Drive. For his Supreme Champion Gilt, Tyler Receives a total of $4,000 in Scholarship money. Reserve Supreme Champion Gilt was the Grand Champion Poland Gilt- shown by Brooklyn Clark of Fletcher 4-H Club. Brooklyn earns a total of $3,000 in Scholarship money.
