Lawmakers Have a Ball at the Legislative Night Showmanship Contest

House Majority Whip Skye McNiel of Bristow won the Kerr traveling Trophy last night at the Oklahoma Youth Expo for winning the overall Showmanship Award during the annual Legislative Celebrity Showmandship Contest.
McNiel was one of dozens of state lawmakers who paired up with young people from around the state and took over the showing of that young person's animal. It was the young person becoming the teacher to the lawmaker as they explained how to guide the pig, set up the lamb and lead the steer for a few minutes on Wednesday evening.
State Representative Don Armes emceed the event- introducing each lawmaker and pointing out to the students and their families that this interaction is a reminder to the lawmakers that the OYE is a worthy recipient of the state appropriation it receives on an annual basis.
