Grand Champion Lamb and Grand Champion Goat Owned by Same Exhibitor- Sell Back to Back for $25,000 Total

The Sale of Champions helped conclude the market animal phase of the 2013 Oklahoma Youth Expo. For Tipton FFA member Destinee Johnson, it turned out to be a great payday, as her pair of Grand Champions sold for a total of $25,000.
The Grand Champion Market Lamb- the top Hampshire in the show- sold for $15,000 and was purchased by Central States Trailers- while her Grand Champion Market Goat sold for $10,000- being purchased by McDonalds and Farm Credit Associations of Oklahoma.
Meanwhile- the Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb was shown by Brock Hill of the Sapulpa FFA- his Suffolk sold for $10,000 while the Bronze Medallion Market Lamb, owned by Ashley Rhodes of Indiahoma FFA was sold for $5,000.
The Reserve Grand Champion Wether Goat was shown by Halie Schovanec of Garber FFA- Halie saw her Goat sell for $7,500 while the market goat chosen third overall for the entire show was owned by Emily Jackson of Hartshorne FFA- Emily's goat sold for $6,000.
Overall- the Sale of Champions saw 215 animals offered- and OYE Executive Director Tyler Norvell reports that the final sale total approached $850,000- the highest overall sale total ever for what is known as the "World's Largest Junior Livestock Show."

It was truly a night of Destinee Thursday evening at the 2013 Oklahoma Youth Expo- for the first time in history- one exhibitor won a pair of the Grand Champion trophies- Destinee Johnson from Tipton FFA pulled the trick off by winning both the Grand Champion Market Goat title as well as owning and showing the Grand Champion Market Lamb

The Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb was shown by Brock Hill of the Sapulpa FFA Chapter- Brock was showing the Champion Suffolk. The Bronze Medallion Lamb was owned by Askley Rhodes- it was the Crossbred Champion for this young lady from Indiahoma FFA.
