Sun, 13 Mar 2016 15:13:55 CDT

Sierra Weathers of Hinton 4-H Shows Supreme Commercial Gilt at 2016 OYE It was a return to the Oklahoma Youth Expo for Dr. Mark Hoge, who along with his sift judge, Brant Smith, was back judging gilts for a second year. In 2015, Hoge and Smith judged the Purebred Division while here in 2016, he judged the more than twelve hundred commercial gilts on Saturday. At the end of the day, they chose the Middleweight Division Champion shown by Sierra Weathers of Hinton 4-H to be the Supreme Champion Commercial Gilt. The Middleweight Division was the strongest of the three divisions, at least at the top, as the judges made the Reserve Middleweight Gilt the Reserve Supreme Champion Commercial Gilt- she was shown by Halle Hartman of Sentinel FFA.

The third place Commercial gilt of the entire day was the Heavyweight Division Champion, owned and shown by Ashlynn Vinson of the Wilburton FFA.

Among our pictures that are a part of our FLICKR album is the final grand drive from the Commercial Gilt Show. (Pictured here with this story is Supreme Champion owner Sierra Weathers.)
