2016 Oklahoma Youth Expo Reaches MidPoint- Tyler Norvell Talks About Transition From Breeding Animals to Market Animals Tuesday has been a transitional day for the 2016 Oklahoma Youth Expo, as the transition is being finished from breeding animals to market animals. The opening days of the 2016 OYE has been dedicated to the breeding animals, starting with the Purebred Gilts that were shown last Friday. Wrapping up the breeding animals is the breeding Ewes that have been shown today.

At the same time, the first of three days of Barrows were shown on Tuesday- Berkshires, Chester Whites, Durocs, Poland Chinas and Spots were all shown- while Hamps and Yorks will make their way through the Show Ring on Wednesday and the Crossbreds will be featured in Barn 6 on Thursday ahead of the Grand Drive that evening in the Jim Norrick Rodeo Arena, otherwise known as the "Big House."

The other species start their market shows on Wednesday.

Along the way- there have been several showmanship contests- our picture here is from the Swine Showmanship during the Senior Division when the judge asked the finalists to put their animals on pause for a few moments.

Tuesday morning, Radio Oklahoma Network Farm Director Ron Hays caught up with Tyler Norvell, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Youth Expo- and got a midway update on how the 2016 101st Annual OYE is progressing.
