A familiar name to those that have watched Oklahoma Youth Expo hog shows down through the years rose to the top in the 2017 OYE Commercial Breeding Gilt Show. That name was Straka and young Garrison Straka of El Reno won his class, division and overall Supreme Champion in the Commercial Gilt show with a pig that had the markings of a Hamp- and featured a pedigree that included Visionary and Hillbilly Bone as her sires.
The Division Three Champion that was named Supreme Champion of the 2017 OYE Commercial Gilt Show will lead off the Night of Stars Gilt Sale this coming Wednesday evening. A total of 115 gilts will be offered in a live auction where bidders from multiple states will come and participate at State Fair Park for the best females of the more than three thousand that were shown from Thursday through Saturday afternoon. The complete sale order can be seen by clicking on the 2017 OYE Night of Stars Sale Order PDF link at the bottom of this story.
