Monday was a busy day at the 2017 Oklahoma Youth Expo, as the breeding heifer show concluded, market barrows for the various breeds were checking in, the breeding ewe lamb show began and several showmanship competitions were held.
Our picture here is with the Grand Champion Swine Showman for the 2017 Oklahoma Youth Expo, Shyann McWhirter of the Maysville FFA- the Reserve Grand Champion Showmanship winner for swine was Jentry Squires of Kingfisher FFA.
In the Lamb Showmanship, a huge turnout for all three divisions was narrowed down to the Grand Champion Sheep Showman for 2017- Braden Burns of Kingfisher FFA was the top showman for 2017 while the Reserve Grand Champion Showmanship winner was from Mulhall Orlando- Joleigh Oldenburg.
During the course of the afternoon- Radio Oklahoma Ag Network Farm Director Ron Hays caught up with Tyler Norvell of OYE for a quick update of the day's activity- and what lies ahead- including the start of the barrow show, the Night of Stars Gilt Sale on Wednesday evening and how someone can still get in on supporting the youth of Oklahoma in the Friday Sale of Champions.
