Governor Mary Fallin Visits the 2017 OYE- Calling It "One of the Most Impressive and Important Programs" in Oklahoma for Youth

Wed, 15 Mar 2017 20:49:17 CDT

Governor Mary Fallin Visits the 2017 OYE- Calling It The 2017 Legislative Showmanship was already a success before the Governor of Oklahoma walked down the ramp into the State Fair Arena- but an extra measure of excitment came in with Governor Mary Fallin as she mixed with the crowd, brought greetings and in general, gushed and bragged about the tremendous young people that surrounded her.

It was the first time that Governor Fallin had come to the Legislative event- she has been on the podium before at the Sale of Champions.

After her comments to the crowd- and in between visits that she had with a large number of 4-H and FFA members, Radio Oklahoma Ag Network Farm Director Ron Hays talked with the Governor about the importance of leadership development events like the OYE- and she and Ron also discussed the state's response to the Wildfires burning in northwest Oklahoma.

Governor Fallin told Hays "this is one of the state's most impressive and important programs for our youth in the state of Oklahoma- the Oklahoma Youth Expo and livestock shows teach these children responsibility...and leadership skills."
