OYE Competiton Underway- Six Breed Champions Selected In Purebred Gilt Show on Thursday

The first day of showing at the 2018 Oklahoma Youth Expo is in the books- and six breeds of purebred gilts were sorted through by judges Justin Rodibaugh and Curt Hannon- both from Indiana.
The Purebred gilt show continues on Friday morning, with Polands and Durocs to be judged, followed by the selection of the Supreme Purebred Gilt and the final sale order selection for the Night of Stars Gilt Sale that will happen Wednesday evening, March 14.
From Thursday's show- here are the champions and reserve champions in the breeds shown:
Berkshire
Champion- Sadie Varner, Bristow FFA
Reserve- Blake Weeks, Tecumseh, 4-H
Chester
Champion- Marcos Trejo, Ringwood FFA
Reserve0 Korri Waitman, Dibble FFA
Hamps
Champion- Will Jones, Skiatook FFA
Reserve- Brooklym Skidgel, Pawnee FFA
Herefords
Champion- Tucker Lang, Cushing 4-H
Reserve- Trevor Franke, Covington Douglas 4-H
Spots
Champion- Grace Montgomery, Red Oak FFA
Reserve- Brant Weir, Bristow FFA
Yorks
Champion- Adison Thompson, Noble 4-H
Reserve- Baylee Weeks, Tecumseh 4-H
