Supreme Champion Purebred Gilt Will Lead Off the 2018 Night of Stars Gilt Sale at OYE- Here is Complete Lineup

Supreme Champion Purebred Gilt Will Lead Off the 2018 Night of Stars Gilt Sale at OYE- Here is Complete Lineup On Saturday afternoon, the final sale order for the 2018 Night of Stars Gilt show was set- with 60 Commercial Gilts and 55 Purebred Gilts to be offered. The 2018 Night of Stars Gilt Sale will happen on Wednesday, March 14th at 7 PM central time.

The 115 gilts were the best of over 2,700 Purebred and Commercial gilts shown at the 2018 Oklahoma Youth Expo.

The leadoff gilt for the 2018 Sale will be the Supreme Champion Purebred Gilt- the Champion Yorkshire shown by Adison Thompson of Noble 4-H. The second gilt to sell will be the Champion Berk and Reserve Supreme Purebred Champ shown by Sadie Varner of Bristow FFA.


Chase Martin of the Red Oak FFA chapter had his gilt selected as the Supreme Champion Commericial Gilt- and his gilt will be the third one sold this coming Wednesda

The Reserve Supreme Commercial Gilt is owned and was shown by Rachel Rumsey of the Prague FFA- Rachel will have the fourth gilt to be sold.

The other purebred Breed Champs will follow- and then the third thru tenth best Commercial Gilts will round out the top twenty gilts to sell at the Night of Stars.

The breed winners include (in the order they will be sold):

Duroc- Rylee Simpson, Locust Grove FFA

Spot- Grace Montgomery, Red Oak FFA

Hamp Will Jones, Skiatook FFA

Hereford- Tucker Lang, Cushing 4-H

Poland- Cason Crump, Wetumka FFA

Chester- Marcos Trejo, Ringwood FFA


Commercial Gilts selected as the third thru the tenth best of the entire Commercial Giltshow included the following 4-H and FFA members:

Third- Kacie Eshleman, Cherokee FFA

Fourth- Maddy Raskey, Webbers Falls 4-H

Fifth- Rachel Rumsey, Prague FFA

Sixth- Gavin Smith, Covington-Douglas FFA

Seventh- Ashton Keeter, Chattanooga FFA

Eighth-Joseph Young, Bristow FFA

Ninth- Rylan McPeak, Idabel 4-H

Tenth- Cameron Odell, Fort Gibson FFA


A total of 115 gilts will be sold this coming Wednesday evening- and you can click on the PDF link at the bottom of this story to see the complete list of 115 purebred and commercial gilts to be offered.


One breeder can claim four of the 115 gilts that will be shown on Wednesday- Ottenwalter Showpigs of Colusa, California.
