Rayli Cunningham of Laverne FFA Wins Supreme Champion Purebred Heifer Drive With Her Angus Champion- Story UPDATED with Breed Champions

The cattle barns were full as over 1,400 Beef Heifers descended upon State Fair Park for the 2018 Oklahoma Youth Expo Beef Heifer Show- which began on Sunday afternoon and concluded Monday evening. The 2018 numbers were up more than 200 compared to the 2017 show- and was a record beef heifer number for OYE.
Multiple Supreme Champions were named out of hte Heifers that paraded in Norrick Arena- The toughest competition was in the Purebred Supreme Drive, with eighteen breeds being represented well after dark on Monday. The 2018 Supreme Champion Purebred Beef Heifer was shown and owned by Rayli Cunningham of the Laverne FFA- capturing top honors with here Angus Breed Champ. Cunningham received a $2,000 Scholarship based on winning the Angus Breed Championship- and another $1,000 Scholarship for being selected Supreme Purebred Champ. Radio Oklahoma Ag Network Farm Director Ron Hays talked with her after her Angus heifer was named best in show- and that conversation can be heard later on Tuesday as our Beef Buzz feature for March 13th.
Reserve Supreme Purebred Champion Heifer was the Champion Maine Anjou Heifer- shown by Carlee Clark of the Muldrow 4-H.
The Supreme Champion Breed Influence Beef Heifer Champion was shown by Chloe Clark of Muldrow 4-H for her Mainetainer Champion- the Reserve Supreme Influence Beef Heifer was the Champion Simmental Influence Heifer shown by Colton Sand of Perkins-Tryon FFA.
The Supreme Champion Commercial Beef Heifer for the 2018 OYE was shown and is owned by Shelby Hubbard of Miami FFA.
