The Master Showmanship Drive was held Friday night at the State Fair Arena- and Cooper Newcomb of the Merritt FFA walked away with top honors. He beat out seven other young showmen- including Chase McGolden of the Fairview FFA who had bested him as the Sheep Showmanship Award winner on Friday. Newcomb was the Reserve Sheep Showman, but when he got to the Master Showmanship Competition, he turned the tables on McGolden and took top honors.
The Master Showmanship starts each young person with his or her own animal- but then they are asked to handle each of the other three species during the course of the competition. The top two sheep showmen ended up being the class of the Master Showmanship event, sponsored by ACCO Showmaster. (Our picture here is of the Swine Showmanship Competition from earlier in the week)
The other Showmanship winners that were a part of the Master Showmanship Contest included:

Morgan Matlock, Tecumseh FFA
Reserve Beef Champion:

Champion Swine Showman:
Blake Goss, Washita County 4-H
Reserve Swine Showman:
