The owner of the 2009 Grand Champion Market Lamb, Charlcey Vinyard of Altus FFA, was all smiles on Monday evening as her lamb almost matched the top lamb sold a year ago, with the winning bid here in 2009 gavelled in at $22,000 by Auctioneer Eddie Sims. The Winning Bid was claimed by Touchstone Energy Cooperatives of Oklahoma- the same buyer of the Grand Champion Lamb this year as in 2008.
Vinyard's lamb was named Superstar- and won the very competitive Crossbred division of the show. In fact, the top three Crossbreds were the top three Market Lambs of the entire show.
The Reserve Grand Champion Lamb was shown by Luke Davis of Guthrie FFA- and his Crossbred earned him $15,000- the winning bidder Bank First and the Chickasaw Nation.
In our video box below, we have a Windows Media Video file of the Grand Champion sale-Take a look and listen at the action from Monday afternoon at the State Fair Arena.
