Nomination Process Begins This Month for the Oklahoma Youth Expo
Tue, 07 Oct 2008 10:12:30 CDTWe preview the 2009 Oklahoma Youth expo with Jeramy Rich, Executive Director of the OYE. The dates for the 2009 OYE (they are back on Oklahoma's spring break week) are March 13-23, 2009.
2009 marks the 95th year of this great event. Since 1915 Oklahoma youth and their families have been making this event a tradition in their lives; a pinnacle to a year of hard work and through the years making this event not only the World's Largest Junior Livestock Show but an event which highlights the world's best and brightest young people.
Nomination kits can only be ordered by agricultural education instructors and county extension educators. Individual families or exhibitors may not request kits. You must go through
your ag teacher or county extension educator.
Deadlines
Steers: October 22, 2008 (postmarked by this date)
Swine: December 10, 2008 (postmarked by this date)
For the Sheep and Goats- All Sheep (excluding purebred ewes) and Goats must be nominated through a manual, on-site nomination process at one of the three following locations and dates: (The cost is $10 per head)
Chisholm Trail Expo Center Enid, OK Monday, October 27, 2008 - 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Grady County Fairgrounds Chickasha, OK Tuesday, October 28, 2008 - 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Muskogee County Fairgrounds Muskogee, OK Wednesday, October 29, 2008 - 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
