CBB Officers Elected as Nominated-

There were a few moments of drama as the National Cattlemen's Beef Association and the Cattlemen's Beef Board met Saturday morning in San Antonio. As the Beef Board finalized the election of their 2010 officers, one of Oklahoma's Beef Board members, Bob Drake, stood and made a strong appeal to those in the room to unite and not make any move that could cause a major disruption in the nomination process. Drake's appeal came as the Beef Board considered the nomination of Tom Jones to be the Vice Chairman of the Beef Board.


When Drake concluded his remarks, the nomination and election of Jones continued without any move to nominate someone from the floor.


There was talk in the hallways in San Antonio that some Beef Board members had considered nominating someone to run against Jones for the Vice Chair position. After the comments by Drake, any effort to do that was abandoned.
