Bullish Cattle on Feed Report Shows Two Percent Fewer Cattle on Feed

The USDA monthly Cattle on Feed Report was released on Friday afternoon, after the close of the livestock futures markets for the week. Estimates for the January report averaged 98.5% for January first on Feed and the number came in just under that at 98%. Trade estimates for December Placements were 95.7% and the USDA number came in at 93.87%. December Marketings were 103.71% compared to trade estimates of 102.3%. Analysts are saying that these numbers are friendly.
