Feedlots Will Continue to Struggle to Make Much Money in 2010
Mon, 01 Feb 2010 7:03:22 CST
The feedlot end of the Beef Cattle Industry still has too much room available to feed cattle- and that excess capacity will continue to weigh on that segment of the business to make money in 2010. We talk about this and more on today's Beef Buzz, as we hear from Randy Blach of Cattlefax and this wrap up comments during the annual Cattlefax Market outlook seminar held Friday morning in San Antonio.
Blach says that the current cost of moving a beef animal all the way through the cattle pipeline to the packer is some $200 above the long term average- and he believes that costs will remain relatively high and that key input costs to the producer will be volatile for the foreseeable future.
The Beef Buzz is a regular feature heard on radio stations around the state on the Radio Oklahoma Network- but is also a regular audio feature found on this website as well.
