Mon, 15 Mar 2010 22:01:07 CDT
The Grand Champion Wether Goat was selected Monday evening by judge Marvin Ensor of San Angelo, Texas. His pick of the more then 1,000 market animals was owned and shown by Chance Greenroyd of the Noble FFA. We talked to Chance right after his animal was named the best of the 2010 show. Greenroyd has known success over the last year in a couple of major shows, having exhibited the Grand Champion Meat Goat at this past fall's Tulsa State Fair, and had the Reserve Grand Champion Market Goat at the 2009 Oklahoma Youth Expo. The picture here is of Chance with his winning Goat that will be one of the first animals sold next Monday at the Sale of Champions that is the finale of the 2010 Oklahoma Youth Expo.
The Reserve Grand Champion Market Wether Goat was shown by Mercedes Hardin of the Hennessey FFA Chapter. Mercedes had the reserve Champion in Division IV of the 2010 Wether Show, just behind the animal that was selected as the Grand Champion.
The Division Champions, included Division One(the lightest of the market goats) was shown by Danielle Litzenberger of the Waynoka FFA Chapter. The Division Two Champion was owned and shown by Braden Schovanec of the Garber FFA Chapter, while the Division Three Champion Goat was owned by Laura Riley of the Alva 4-H.
