Can Death Tax Fix Happen in 2010?
Wed, 24 Mar 2010 6:16:39 CDT
Will the Democratic Leadership decide to deal with the so called Death Tax this year- or push a final decision off into 2011? At one point, it appeared that there was an opportunity to get a more permanent fix here in the early months of 2010 for Estate Taxes that might include a three to five million dollar exemption per person and stepped up basis, something that Mary Kay Thatcher told us at the recent Commodity Classic was essential for farmers and ranchers.
This past weekend, we got the latest take from Washington on the so called Death Tax- and Colin Woodall of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association is less optimistic about getting a permanent fix to the issue in the time remaining before lawmakers start spending most of their time trying to get reelected, especially those who voted for the Obama healthcare bill.
We talk about this with Woodall on today's Beef Buzz.
The Beef Buzz is a regular feature heard on radio stations around the state on the Radio Oklahoma Network- but is also a regular audio feature found on this website as well.
