Wheat Harvest in Pictures- The Hoover family of Hobart Harvests Overly Wheat Wheat Harvset continues to move quiickly in southwestern Oklahoma- as the lack of any rain this week has allowed more and more fields to be ready on a daily basis.

We received these pictures from John Hoover from the front lines of harvest in Kiowa County, who writes in the email sent to us that here are "some pictures of the Hoover family beginning their 2010 wheat harvest on Monday May 31, 2010. This field was Overly wheat that yielded 45 bu. per acre with a 63 lb test weight and 10.6 % moisture at 8:00pm. The producers are Bruce and Daryl Hoover of Hobart. The Hoover’s farm wheat in Kiowa and Washita counties. The field pictured is in Kiowa county northeast of Hobart.

"Our combines have ran every day since Monday with yields running from 30-45 bu. per acre.

"We are blessed to have a much better harvest this year than 2009."
