The Risk in Wheat Storage This Harvest Season
Fri, 04 Jun 2010 7:31:12 CDT
Clinton Griffiths with the Oklahoma State University Ag Communications Department on campus in Stillwater is the host weekly of the TV program SUNUP- and one of his regular segments is a conversation with the Extension Grain Marketing Economist at OSU, Dr. Kim Anderson. He says that Dr. Anderson has one big idea this week- and that is a simple question to those that are harvesting wheat here in the month of June- can you afford $.60 risk?
You can wait and see CLinton and Kim on Saturday morning on the show that is seen statewide on OETA- or you can listen to Dr. Anderson and get his latest insights on the wheat market by clicking on the Listen Bar below.
Clinton Griffiths tells us that the rest of the show stacks out like this:
SUNUP heads to the Lane Research Center in southeast Oklahoma for a look at growing alternative crops like vegetables, new products helping producers do it and the center's organic crop program.
Glenn Selk discusses the optimum weight for replacement heifers at the beginning of breeding season.
In AGWEATHER we look at soil moistures and what appears to be drought conditions starting to form in southwest Oklahoma.
SUNUP travels Eakly, Okla. to talk with a peanut farmer who found alternative markets in order to stay in business.
