Animal Welfare on the Ranch is in Reality Good Animal Husbandry.


Dr. Ron Gill with Texas AgriLife says that it's not easy to explain to a lot of cattle producers that they need to be engaged in animal welfare, which he says is, pure and simple, good animal husbandry.


When he uses the term Animal Husbandry, he gets better reception from most cattlemen. Gill says that cattle producers can improve their husbandry practices in the area of weaning management. There are ways to save money and treat our animals better if we pay attention to the details that are a part of good weaning management.


We dicsuss these issues with Ron Gill on this edition of the Beef Buzz.
