As June Winds Down- a Salute to Dairy Farmers During June Dairy Month
Wed, 30 Jun 2010 7:14:00 CDT
There's just a few hours left to celebrate June as Dairy month- and we have Teresa Wagner of Dairymax joining us on our website to help celebrate this special time of promotion for the dairy industry- giving us a chance to talk about the nutrition rich food that dairy delivers. It also is an excellent time to remind consumers that there are still a lot of wonderful dairy farm families that make up the industry- and they are passionate about producing a great product- taking care of their cows and taking care of the environment.
June Dairy Month started out as a promotion to help distribute extra milk when cows started on pasture in the warm summer months. Today, its rich history continues, with communities, companies and people from all over the country observing June Dairy Month in a variety of ways. The promotion originally started out being called "Good Health Month" and helped remind consumers of the benefits of dairy products. Teresa talks with us about how Dairymax works during the month of June in telling the Dairy story to consumers. Click on the LISTEN BAR below to hear our conversation with Teresa on June as Dairy Month as well as looking ahead into July, which is celebrated as Ice Cream Month.
