The Senate Ag Committee has kicked off a series of Farm Policy Hearings here in 2010- and their first witness was the US Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack. Vilsack called on the Committee to consider a fresh direction for the next farm bill, asking them to consider policy that will enable the US to rebuild farm population in the next few years.
