Premiums Will Continue with GIPSA Rule Implementation
Fri, 27 Aug 2010 15:13:32 CDT
Allen Sents is a relatively small custom feedlot operator based in Marquette, Kansas- he tells us that he runs cattle mostly that are owned by other people. Sents is a director for the US Cattlemen's Association- and he is a supporter of the GIPSA Rule being debated today at the USDA-DOJ workshop on competition.
Sents contends that the packers will not stop paying premiums for cattle if the GIPSA rule is adopted- and he discounts the talk about fears of more litigation that could arise if the rule is put into place. We talked with Allen Sents here at the Student Center on the campus of Colorado State- and you can click on the LISTEN BAR to hear our conversation midday today with him.
