Thu, 09 Dec 2010 5:58:11 CST
The 2010 Tulsa Farm Show kicks off Thursday morning at 9:00 AM at the Quik Trip Center at the Tulsa State Fairgrounds. The upper section of the Center is jam packed with products and services that will be of interest to folks in agriculture- the upper level covers about 330,000 square feet. The lower area is another 120,000 square feet and a sizable part of it also has activities going on the next three days that relate to the Farm Show- including private treaty cattle sales that are sponsored by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau as well as the Oklahoma Simmental Association.
Wednesday was the day for the show to get set up- and here you can see one exhibitor putting a little shine on one of their piecs of equipment.
After setting up our booth for the three day event, we talked with the marketing director for Midwest Farm Shows, who has been a part of the Tulsa Farm Show for all 17 years- John Sampson. He says that one of the farm shows that they operate that comes up just before the Tulsa show is one that they hold in Peoria, Illinois. He says that the the mood of the ag industry in that corn belt location was very upbeat for their show- and there is a lot of optimism going forward within the farm and ranch community.
Sampson points out that the Tulsa Farm Show is a balanced show- and has products and services for you to check out if you are a livestock producer, small grains producer or crop farmer. There's also a lot of vendors who have things that will work well for the countrypolitan folks who have a small acreage that they live on, work in town but run a few cows or have a horse and/or kids that they are raising in the country.
