AgConnect- a Global Agricultural Village for the Next Three Days
Fri, 07 Jan 2011 12:21:00 CST
It is the second AgConnect Farm Equipment Show that is getting underway in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, and it is obvious that is is considerably larger in 2011 compared to their initial effort in 2010 in Orlando, Florida. This year's AgConnect is co-located with the American Farm Bureau annual meeting this year. Between the AgConnect exhinbitors and the American Farm Bureau Trade SHow Pavilion, there are just over 380 exhibitors on the show floor at the Georgia World Congress Center.
In addition to the exhibit hall, there's also an extensive education program, with over 30 brand new sessions and topics as well as Innovation Theater sponsored by Successful Farming. The show, which is sponsored by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), officially opens this evening with the grand opening ceremony and will run through Monday afternoon.gConnect
As Preview Day continues to unfold- we talked with Charlie O'Brien of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers about the concept of the AgConnect show. He calls it a "gathering place" with folks coming in from several dozen countries from around the world. O'Brien says that the first AgConnect had guests from 62 countries- and he's hopeful for a similar number in 2011.
AgConnect is designed to be an every other year event- and AEM plans to have their next show in 2013- returning to Orlando, Florida in January of that year.
