Kim's Wheat Market Strategy- and Your SUNUP Program Rundown for This Weekend
Thu, 24 Feb 2011 17:12:41 CST
The Commodity Funds are apparently bailing out of the wheat markets- and that is one of the key reasons why wheat prices have tumbled in recent trading sessions. So says Grain Marketing Economist Dr. Kim Anderson of Oklahoma State University's Department of Ag Economics.
On the SUNUP show that will be seen on Saturday morning on OETA, Anderson tells Dave Deken that there is some underlying support in the wheat market because of fears that some areas that are very dry in the hard red winter wheat belt will have difficulty producing at least an average crop.
And Deken asked Kim Anderson for a time and date wheat price prediction- and Kim predicts that cash wheat prices in Kingfisher, Oklahoma on June 20, 2011 will be $6.75. (we shall see)
You can preview Kim's conversation with SUNUP's Dave Deken by clicking on the LISTEN BAR below. (our picture this week is of regular Hostess of SUNUP Lyndall Stout and OSU's Kim Anderson)
Besides Anderson's predictions on the wheat market, it looks like an excellent SUNUP on this final Saturday in February. Here's the full rundown of the Saturday morning show as produced by Lyndall Stout and her SUNUP team at the OSU Ag Communications department.
This week on SUNUP, as Oklahoma's drought continues, we discuss possible replacement crops for wheat with Chad Godsey.
