Mon, 07 Mar 2011 17:13:29 CST
National Pork Producers Council President Doug Wolf will meet today with Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to ask him to release Conservation Reserve Program acres for corn and other plantings to try and increase harvests. There are about 30-million acres in CRP and an estimated 4-million to 8-million acres are considered to be no-environmentally sensitive and eligible for release. Such a move is not expected in time for this year's crop.
