Wheat Market Strategy With Kim Anderson and Your SUNUP Lineup for the Weekend
Fri, 25 Mar 2011 6:52:57 CDT
Weather conditions have hit the potential size of the of the US Hard Red Winter Wheat Crop- and Oklahoma State University Grain Marketing Economist Kim Anderson believes that wheat prices at harvest may be stronger than he was predicting just a few weeks ago.
He contends that weather has jacked up the volatility of the wheat marketplace- and told Dave Deken in this week's SUNUP program that will be seen on OETA stations Saturday morning that he now thinks we could see a seven dollar wheat price on the elevator door in Kingfisher, Oklahoma June 20, 2011.
You can hear all of Dr. Anderson's thoughts on the wheat market for this week on Saturday on OETA and SUNUP- or you can sneak an early listen by clicking on the LISTEN BAR below to hear the conversation between Dr. Kim Anderson and Dave Deken.
Besides the Kim Anderson strategy update- Lyndall Stout and the folks at SUNUP have an excellent lineup for the first show they have had in several weeks as OETA returns to normal programming.
That lineup includes:
A feature on the competition at the Oklahoma Youth Expo (OYE) as they talk with Rusty Gosz about showmanship qualities.
Joe Armstrong discusses weeds and burn down application for spring crops.
Eric Stafne examines how the extreme cold this winter could hurt grape quality.
In the Mesonet report, Al and Gary look back at how much rain Oklahoma has received since November 2010, and how much moisture April may bring.
Derrell Peel looks at the latest cattle on feed numbers and explains how external factors, like the disaster in Japan, are impacting beef markets.
In Cow-Calf Corner, Glenn Selk explains calf scours and how the condition can negatively impact a herd.
In Shop Stop, Randy and Wayne compare welding hoods with automatic dimmers.
Finally, we wrap up with another story from OYE about the unique cattle fitting competition, which features contestants prepping and grooming their animals for the show ring.
